Positive Reception for 107 E. Main Project

JSA's presentation of a new mixed used project at 107 E. Main was received with overwhelming support at the Carrboro Joint Boards meeting in May. We are excited to move forward with the first project of its kind in the heart of Carrboro.

The building proposed would be a four-story structure, with retail space on the street level facing Main and Weaver Streets, and apartments on levels two through four. The primary goal of the street level retail is to continue the commercial fabric of the historic 100 block and be very open to pedestrian traffic on both Weaver and Main streets.

We believe this building embodies the very spirit of the Town of Carrboro’s Downtown Visioning and long-range planning goals. It is responsible infill redevelopment, with a small footprint and impact on infrastructure while providing space for new downtown residents and commercial use.

New Media enjoying their new space!

New Media Campaigns is settling into their new space at 110 E. Main - upstairs from Acme restaurant. The upfit involved stripping the space of the sheetrock and dropped ceiling so that the old brick walls and truss structure are now exposed. Additional materials include cold rolled steel and reclaimed wood as partitions and a feature wall in the kitchen.

The space is open and flexible. It includes a large room with multiple workstations, several smaller shared and individual offices, a kitchen/bar and a conference room. The conference room features a garage door to accommodate larger events, such as a current workshop that is open to the public - Girls Develop It. The developer teaching this programming class opens the garage door to create a large classroom with the adjacent space.
